my approach

As a recovering, people pleasing perfectionist myself, I know exactly how those tendencies can manifest in problematic ways as a therapist. Maybe some aspects of this job come easily to you: the organization, the administrative tasks, the professionalism, but you always find yourself over-stretched, overwhelmed, and doubting yourself at every turn. You are hard on yourself, never quite knowing if what you’re doing is “good enough” or even just “enough enough”. You find yourself accommodating clients, even if it means you’re working too many hours, waking up too early, or staying at the office too late. You need someone to show you how to be firm, but kind. How to have boundaries, and be flexible.

I might be your ideal supervisor if you are punctual, communicative, and on top of your shit, but have a harder time with the areas mentioned above. I like to work with folks who are easy to reach, take feedback well, give feedback freely, and want supervision to be a place where they experience challenge and growth. Together, we’ll help you create a practice that is sustainable, with boundaries that work for your life, and model strong self-care for your clients.
